This weekend, we had the privilege of being a vendor for the Orange County Walk to Remember in Tustin, CA. The event is hosted by Forever Footprints, an organization developed to support to families suffering from pregnancy or infant loss. They printed a large memory wall listing the names of the baby’s that had been loved and lost. We were able to recognize the 3 babies that we have lost and walk in their memory. The rain didn’t damper the spirits of the participants as families held balloons and pictures, and wore customized t-shirts acknowledging their lost child. We were able to share our story with many of the people there and tell them about Cynthia’s Dance. We got a lot of positive reactions, and some tears, as participants heard about our story and how our life experience lead us to the writing of this novel. Our time at the event confirmed our belief and hope that this story will help heal some open wounds of grief and loss to those who have lost a child.
Here is a photo of the names of our children in heaven from the Memorial Wall.
